Costs

The following entry fees will apply:

CategoriesCost
Primary school *R140
High school *R160
Replacement bike board *R50
* One 2023 bike board will be issued free of charge at the first event being attended. The board must be used for all races in the series. A fee will be charged if a replacement board is requested.

Online entry is the only mechanism to enter the races. No “on the day” entries will be accepted.

For first time participants in the 2023 series, use the first two options. For returning participants, thus those who have raced at Southey Vines, use the “Returning Secondary School” / “Returning Primary School” options. The participant’s bike board number is required to pull the personal information from the previous event’s entry. Refer to the previous start lists or results to find this number if not sure.

Online entries will close on Wednesday, 17 May at midnight. No entries can be accepted after this time.

Registration

There will be a registration point at the venue where Team Managers must collect their school’s number boards at least one hour prior to the start of racing. The number boards contain a timing chip with a rider’s details and cyclists may therefore not swop number boards! Should there be any children not represented by a Team Manager, they are to go to registration with a responsible adult. Registration opens at 7:30

Program

Laps and start times may change closer to the time. Large groups may be split into separate start groups.

Categories, laps and start times

Participants should be in the start chutes at least 20 minutes before the start of each category. Seeding of the groups will take place in the start chutes and late arrival may cause you to miss your seeded bunch.

Timing

An electronic timing system will be in use. Each number board has an embedded chip which the timing system will pick up. Participants are required to have their number boards attached to the front handlebars before the start of an event. No board, no time!

Please do not swap your timing board with another participant. Your personal information is stored on the timing system linked to the board you are issued with. The bike boards are to be kept for the entire series. If you lose your board between races, a new one can be purchased at registration at a cost of R100.

Parking

Parking will be on the school grounds at Curro. Please follow signage from the main road to the school.
